Self-care month Day 23
Saying no

Good morning my lovely reader and all my new followers it’s so good to meet you!
Today is my birthday, 29 years ago today I was brought it to the wonderful world and because of that I am feeling extra specially happy and relaxed. I have spent all day cuddling my kitten, Luna, colouring in my new colouring book and watching Disney films. I have felt extra exhausted recently and I have really needed some time to myself to relax and I feel all the better for it.

Today I give you permission to say no to something. Whether it is something that you aren’t comfortable with, or are anxious about or whether somebody is demanding too much of your time or energy. To really take care of ourselves we need to be able to say no in these situations. We sometimes say yes out of obligation or because we are too kind to let people down. Cont…

Business Planning

I haven’t been posting as regularly this week I know. I have been laying the foundations, doing all the backstage work in order to make this blog into the life changing community I hope it will be one day. I have run a (semi-successful) business before and want to do this properly and I know I need to start with a proper business plan. So this is where I have started. I will post this part of it because I think it is important for you to know where the hell i’m going with this as much as I do.

Here is my vision statement:

The vision for the blog Imogen J Hope-Life Balance is to create an online resource containing helpful information and sources to help people achieve balance in their lives. I want to start by creating a catalogue of blog posts which explain different ways in which I and other people can achieve a better balance in their lives. To have more time and energy for the things that they are passionate about, for example hobbies and interests and to look after themselves mentally, physically and emotionally, so that they can reach greater potential. I want people to see that their lives don’t need to be endless circles of work they don’t enjoy and fatigue. Life can be more fulfilling and creating a better balance is the way to do it. In the future I want to share ebooks, worksheets and online courses containing information and interactive guides on how to achieve greater life balance.

So this is where were headed. I’m learning a lot about online businesses. How to blog and what areas I need to work on. It’s not as easy as churning out the thoughts in my head (who knew??) and I am starting to realise what a huge amount of hard work it is going to be. I am ready for it!

Things that I am looking forward to…

Moving house. Having a garden. Warmer weather. Whole days and nights spent outside this summer. Walks by the river. Getting a puppy. The spring. Planting flowers. A trip with Mr.H. Publishing my book. A fresh start. Reaching my goal of blog views so I can set another! Cooking & eating the halloumi and sweet chilli recipe from my pinterest Food Inspiration board. Finishing packing and then finishing unpacking. Going on holiday with my family, including my mum and sister. Doing some yoga during baby nap time today for the first time since half-term began. The new episode of House of Fools tonight. Getting my first assignment done and sent for my Open University degree. My first ever solo retreat (post to follow). Celebrating my little fairy girl’s 2nd birthday with a farmyard themed cake.

My first ever crystal therapy session. Being my sister’s matron of honour. Planning her hen party. Buying a tent so we can slip away whenever we need to. A new tattoo. My order of Nakd bars arriving as I accidentally ran out. Plans to travel next year. Brightly painting some second hand furniture for the new house. Making a birthday present for my Grandma. Some quality time planned for me and my boy after we move house.

And, well, lots more besides. It does do us good to remind ourselves of all that we have to look forward to.

Try it my lovelies.
